Communication Accessibility for adults with hearing loss during the COVID-19 pandemic<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year, CHHA conducted a survey that collected information on the impact the pandemic had on the daily lives of people who experienced hearing loss and deafness.<\/p>\n

The rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation has been unsettling, changing daily lives of people around the globe. There is a great deal of uncertainty and we are all relying on news briefs, social media, health videos and information provided electronically to ensure we have received the most current health updates. This information is being updated on an hourly basis and it is important the content reaches all Canadians.<\/p>\n

This survey<\/a> was part of a larger Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA), Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility and University of British Columbia partnership project that\u00a0 helped us better understand ways to create accessible content and guidelines for Canadians that require accessible communication. CHHA and Wavefront Centre worked together to ensure the government, broadcasters and others are learning about accessible communication.<\/p>\n
